Thanksgiving

We had a nice Thanksgiving this year.  Once again, all my siblings came to my moms but Noah was with Kent.  We are hoping to get things on track somehow so that we are on the same schedule.  Of course we all ate a ton and then hung out and played games and just enjoyed each others company.   I thought I had taken some pics but didn't get any this time.

School Basketball

Noah made it on the jr. high basketball team.  He is so excited.  I didn't have much hope for him to make it, not because I didn't think he was good enough but because there was 100 kids trying out and they were only going to choose 3-4 7th graders.  He loves basketball and tried his heart out.  He made it along with Cody Meza  and Nick Yingling so that is pretty exciting.  His first game is next Wednesday.

Halloween

It's kinda weird and sad not to do the whole Halloween thing like going to the school parties and parades.  Noah actually ended up trick or treating with Josh and some of his friends from school.  He wasn't going to go at all until they invited him at the last minute.  He dressed up as a basketball player.  Pretty original right?  lol  This will probably be his last year going.  Sad that he is growing up so fast and getting too old for some of these kiddie things.

We also went to the Scarecrow Festival

Wicked in Vegas

This past weekend we went to Vegas and went and saw the musical "Wicked."  I didn't really know the music or story before we went so I wasn't sure if I would like it but it was awesome.  It's probably my new favorite Broadway play.   I loved the music and story.  We stayed at Tara's.  It was my parents, Tara and Kenny and Mel that went.  Noah came to Vegas with us but he just stayed with Raleigh while we were at the play.

Tara was my date for the play...lol

SBO

Noah tried out and made it for SBO (Student Body Officer) at Matheson.  He is so excited.  He campaigned really hard.  We had fun making his posters and figuring out each day what he could hand out to help him get elected.  He was one of the 4 chosen out of about 30 students to go to the finals.  I was so proud that he even wanted to try out.  He has to wear a shirt that says SBO Matheson every Monday and Wednesday.  He also gets to help do the school announcements and news, help at school events and assemblies.

Parade

Noah got to be in the Cyprus homecoming parade as an SBO.   It was kinda cheesy but he had fun.

Brigham City Temple

Today we went down to the Brigham City Temple to walk through it before it was dedicated.  It was gorgeous inside and out.  It was nice to walk through and have such a peaceful feeling that you only get from going through the temple.

A Train

Noah started playing basketball with a group called A Train.  It is expensive but pretty intense and more competitive.   Alex Austin is the guy who runs it.  He has a lot of connections with colleges and the NBA.  His brother played for the Jazz in the early 90's.  They practice at Franklin Covey so it's not too far from home.  A lot of other kids from school play also so it's kinda nice and we've been able to take turns driving.

Big Buddha came to one of the practices and interviewed the coaches

Jr. HIgh

Noah had his first day of 7th grade.  He seems to be doing okay and enjoying it.  He is growing up so fast.  He is eager to tryout for things and be involved in the school so that is pretty exciting.  The name of his jr. high is Matheson.  It's a nice school and fairly new.  I think it has only been open about 10 years.   He didn't even want me to take him on the first day.  I always took him on the first day in elementary but he was excited to ride the bus.

Summer Fun

I got a good deal off Groupon for the Park City zip line so we went up there last Friday and did it.  Noah was a little nervous at first but it was a lot of fun.  The zip line was at the Utah Olympic Park and they had a little museum that we walked around in.   We also rode the Alpine slide.  Then we did a little shopping at the outlets and had dinner and came home.  Saturday we went to Seven Peaks.  Today we went hiking up Donut Falls.

Jimmer Jam Camp

Noah just finished doing the Jimmer Jam camp in Lehi.  He had so much fun and has been anticipating it for months.  He earned the money to help pay for it too so I think it meant even more to him.  Jimmer was there the whole time and gave them instruction.  The main person was Jimmer's uncle who led the camp.  His whole family was there and helped with the camp.  Some of the players from BYU were there also helping out.  Noah was able to get autographs and they gave all the kids a basketball.
