My Big Day

Well, I finally had by Big Day...the day I have been dreading for quite some time. I tried to have a positive outlook and just think of it as another number. After all, that's all it really is right? I know I'm still 25 at heart....lol. What I wouldn't give to have my 25 year old body back but this old body has been through a lot. Some things I'm proud of and some things, not so proud. Sometimes, I feel like I'm still waiting for my life to start and I'm 40...I was pleasantly surprised to have a little surprise dinner with my siblings and parents. My parents had planned to take me out to dinner for my birthday. It's a tradition that they take us out to dinner to the restaurant of our choice on our birthdays. I picked Texas Roadhouse. When I walked in to the waiting area, Kristi, Kelly and Cherish jumped out to surprise me. It was so sweet. They even brought presents and cake. Tara couldn't come since she lives in Vegas and Kenny had some lame excuse as to why he wasn't there... (love ya Ken). It was so fun to sit and be honored by my siblings and parents. It definitely made the Big day Big but not so bad after all. I've just tried to embrace it since there isn't anything I can do about it. The party with my family was the day before my birthday and on my actual birthday, I went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory.

My birthday cheesecake. Not a great picture. My face looks all greasy. Yuck!

My family at Texas Roadhouse...not a very good pic. I wish I would have taken more pics.

My cute little chocolate cake. It was yummy!

Girls Weekend

We had our 2nd annual girls weekend in St. George this past weekend. It was so much fun and so hard to come back to life/reality (isn't that a song? lol). We left on Friday around noon and got to St. George about 6 p.m. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner which of course is always yummy. Then we went back to the house and stayed up talking until like 2 or 3 in the morning. Saturday morning, we got up and went to the St. George Day Spa and I can not say enough about this place. It was wonderful, relaxing, and awesome. I love being pampered. We got a pedicure, massage and facial. That afternoon, we shopped and shopped and shopped some more. We all love to shop so it's great. We had Pizza Factory for lunch which is always delish. We went and saw a movie that night and stayed up talking late again. On Sunday, we went for a walk and then went to breakfast at the Egg and I restaurant. It's a great breakfast place. We all got star struck when we thought we saw Stanley Tucci in the restaurant. Kristi even asked him if he was Stanley Tucci. He wasn't but could definitely be his twin. It was pretty funny. We said our goodbyes to Tara as she headed back to Vegas and we headed back to SLC. It was such a great time and I'm so glad this is something we will be doing every year. Everyone was able to come except for Cherish and she was definitely missed. Hope she can make it next year. We are so grateful that she let us use her dads house to stay in while we were there. I love these girls so much. They have all taught me something and been such a great example. And as you can see from the photos, they are so beautiful and pretty intimidating to be around. (: Noah stayed with my Dad on Friday night and then with Kenny on Saturday night. He had a ball playing video games with Kenny and they both acted like they didn't want us to come home so they could play video games longer. lol~ Glad everyone had a nice weekend. I already can't wait for next year! I didn't take very many pictures. I guess we were too busy having fun.(:

Spring Break/Easter

We just had Spring Break and Easter over the week of April 18th. It seemed late this year and the weather wasn't all that great but it was still nice to break out of the routine. Noah was grounded at the beginning of the week so we didn't do a whole lot but at the end of the week, we dyed Easter eggs and I took him to see the movie, Rio. It's a really cute animated movie. I think I like those movies as much as Noah. He also talked me into going to the park with him and playing basketball. It was fun but was very chilly. For Easter, he was with his Dad for Sunday and the whole weekend so he did an Easter egg hunt with him. He got home on Easter night and got to find his basket then. Yes, I still hide his basket even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't believe in the bunny anymore...lol. My Mom had a nice dinner at her house for everyone and of course Easter goodies for all the kids. Tara also was in town the week of Spring Break so we got to spend some time with her going out to eat, to a movie and just hanging out with her and her boys. Now I just wish the weather would start to cooperate. I'm so ready for Summer but at this point, I would settle for Spring!
