Field Trip

I went on a field trip with Noah's class the other day. It was the whole 5th grade. We went to the state capitol. I haven't been there in years. It's really beautiful inside. We sat in on a legislative session. In all honesty, it was a little boring and I felt like they were speaking a foreign language. I am so politically challenged..lol. We had lunch and then headed back on the bus to the school. I was in charge of 6 kids. I kept trying to get them to let me take pictures of them at various spots in the capitol but they didn't want to but did give in to me on a few. Sometimes its kind of a hassle to go on these field trips but I know that when he goes to jr. high, there won't be anymore so I try to take advantage and be involved as much as I can while I still can.

D Will

Well, it's official, D Will is no longer with the Jazz. I'm torn as to if this is a good thing or not. It seemed like he was kinda acting like a spoiled brat these last few weeks and I do feel that he played a part in Sloan's resignation despite what the media has said. It didn't seem like his heart was in Utah anymore. On the other hand, Noah is a HUGE fan of his and just a couple of days ago bought a new D Will trash can for his room. He is even considering becoming a Nets fan now. I just wonder how the Jazz will survive. I guess they are looking to the future and what will be best for the team. It's kinda like they are starting over and rebuilding the team. We'll have to wait and see what happens. I've always been a Jazz fan at heart and have gotten more into them these last few years since Noah has been such a fan. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Noah's Room

Noah has had a Spiderman room since he was about 4 or 5 years old. He has told me for the last couple of years that he has outgrown it and wants something different. Finally this past weekend, we moved the furniture around in his room, (not a whole lot of places to change things around in his very small room), dejunked his closet and drawers, and finally got rid of the Spiderman comforter and accessories. We found a nice sports quilt at Target. It's like he has a whole new room now. It's so nice and clean too so let's hope it stays that way. He likes to keep everything and his room gets so cluttered so I usually throw things away when he is gone...lol. He really likes the new room and has kept it pretty clean so far. He still wants to get some posters for his walls too.

I should have gotten some before pictures too but trust me, it looks much better.

Valentines Day

For Valentines Day, I took Noah to see the Justin Bieber movie. It was a documentary type movie about his concerts and how he became famous. Then we went to Olive Garden for dinner. For his school party, we made an Ipod Valentines box. I saw it on the Internet and thought it would be a cute idea. It was actually really easy too compared to the shoe boxes we have tried to decorate in the past and they never seem to turn out that great.

The headphones were shoelaces with little foam hearts glued on the ends for the ear buds. The whole thing was made out of a cereal box.
