Noah turned 12 on the 6th. Kent had him for his actual birthday so on Saturday, we went to dinner at Red Robin. That is his favorite restaurant. We also went and saw Mission Impossible. It wasn't my first choice but I actually liked it. It was pretty entertaining. Sunday, the family came over for pizza and cake to celebrate.
We had a nice Christmas once again. We did our family party the night before Christmas eve. We did it at my parents church. Everyone was able to be there. Noah had to leave a little early because he was supposed to be with Kent but he was able to do white elephants and eat dinner. It was a fun night. Christmas eve, Noah was with Kent. I slept most of the day and then went to dinner with Kevin. We went to Chili's and it was actually kinda busy for Christmas eve. I was supposed to work 11-7 but got called off. Christmas day, I went to church and then went to my parents and had breakfast and hung out until Noah got home at 1. We opened presents and then went back to my parents and hung out with the rest of the family for the day. I'm sad because I guess I didn't get any photos of our family party. Hopefully, Tara or Kristi got some that I can steal...:) His favorite gift, the Ipod touch. He was so excited to open that.

We got our Christmas tree up on Monday night. It's a cute little tree and nice and full. I got all the lights on. (5 strings) and then Noah and I both put on the decorations. We had a lot of fun. It finally started getting me into the Christmas spirit. This might be our last year of getting a "real" tree though. Noah mentioned to me that he didn't care if we had a fake one. I think I might be done with the real ones too. It would be nice to just pull our tree out and get it up and decorated when we want to. We'll see what happens next year.
Each year, Noah picks out a new ornament. This is the one he picked this year.
The Christmas season is upon us already. This year has flown by as every year seems to do the older I get. Last Friday after Noah got home from school we went to the Festival of Trees. I try to go every year because I love looking at all the cool trees the have and the money goes to a good cause so it's worth it.
This was a tree decorated for the movie "Up". It was so much cuter in person. These photos are all from my cell phone so they aren't as good. This tree was made out of tires. This tree was in memory of Brynn Barton. She was a nurse at the U who was killed in a hit and run accident last summer. This was definitely my favorite tree.
This year I had Noah for Thanksgiving and I had the whole weekend off. We went to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner. It was just us and the Amasio's, Uncle Mark and Ida and Aunt Gayle and Harry. It was a smaller crowd than normal but still very nice. My other siblings were at their in laws. It's kinda messed up because on the years that I have Noah for Thanksgiving, then all my siblings (except Kristi) go the their in laws. Oh well. Of course, we ate ourselves into oblivion and continued to eat as the day progressed. We played some games and laid around and relaxed. I got a couple pictures of the dinner table. I'm getting pretty lazy about bringing my camera places. I end up using my cell phone camera which isn't as good as my real camera but its much easier to bring places. I also went and saw Breaking Dawn with my sister. I had been dying to see it and it didn't fail. I really liked it but hate that I have to wait a year for the next one. Can't they make movies faster than that??? Saturday, Marci and her family were in town and invited us to go to dinner with them and go to temple square to see the lights. It was SO crowded and freezing cold. It was nice to see the beautiful lights around the temple and feel the spirit that you feel when you are near the temple. It was fun to see Marci and her family too.
This year, Noah went with Kent trick or treating. They went with Adam and Sarah and their kids and he had fun. He dressed up like a baseball playerthis year which was super easy. He just wore his baseball uniform and hat and cleats. We did a few other Halloween things during October. We went to Hee Haw farms in Pleasant Grove and went on a haunted hayride, picked pumpkins in the pumpkin patch and went through a corn maze. The weather was perfect so it was nice. We also went to Gardner Village to see the witches and went on a ride there too. We almost didn't carve pumpkins this year. The month just flew by. Noah opted to just use these little press on eyes, nose, etc on his pumpkin and I attempted to carve a bat in my pumpkin but it didn't quite work out. It was still fun though. I also went and helped in Noah's class room for the Halloween party. I was in charge of Bingo. The kids seemed to have. Of course, Noah didn't want me taking any pictures. He is at the age now where he gets embarrassed about pictures. It's pretty hard to get him to smile, much less pose for photos. Here are a few of the photos I got of the season. Is it really November 1st? Time is flying!
I like this one. I made Noah put the witches hand on his shoulder so it looked like he had his arm around him. This was probably my favorite witch. This witch was pulling a handcart. Noah in his costume. He looks SO much like Kent in this photo. Noah's finished pumpkin Mine looks like a bat right? I don't get how people can carve those patterns...its super hard and this one was listed as easy... Noah and his friend, Cody
